..posto ora le foto della befana!
an Italian tradition: on Epiphany Eve (on the night of January 5th) an old woman -called Befana- delivers gifts to children throughout Italy.
Unlike Santa Claus, she is supposed to discriminate bad children by giving them pieces of coal (or dark sugar prepared to look like coal) instead of sweets and little presents.
Looks like this past year I wasn't that bad...
A famous poem dedicated to the old granny is:
La Befana vien di notte(The English translation is:
Con le scarpe tutte rotte
Col vestito alla romana
Viva, Viva La Befana!
The Befana comes by night
With her shoes all tattered and torn
She comes dressed in the Roman way
Long life to the Befana!)
(I'm Arianna's sock...thanks to mom-befana for the candies!)
Really a lot of stuff... BUT..can you imagine what's left out of all these candies?
(solution in the next pic..It was pretty obvious..)
